The research conducted into ambitious individuals and what their future holds has provoked managing director Hector Montalvo at Source Marketing Direct® to voice his concerns. He strongly disagrees with the media coverage that suggests having the determination to be ambitious can have serious implications on health and life-span.
According to Fox News and Notre Dame News, a study found that while “‘go-getters’ are more likely to attend prestigious universities and hold high-paying jobs, they are only slightly happier than their less-ambitious counterparts and actually live shorter lives” (foxnews.com). This conclusion was drawn from a study conducted by researchers Timothy Judge and Logan Terman. The study followed 717 ‘high ability’ individuals over a number of decades. The data collected from the study analysed their ambitious and how they pursued their goals from college until retirement (news.nd.edu).
